The New York Rangers traded defenseman Ryan McDonagh and forward J.T. Miller to the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for forwards Vladislav Namestnikov, Brett Howden, defenseman Libor Hajek, a first-round pick in 2018, and a conditional first-round pick in 2019, the team announced Monday.
The Lightning had long been rumored to want McDonagh after it was reported Tampa Bay wasn't on his 10-team no-trade list.
McDonagh - signed through next season - gives the Lightning a solid boost to their back end.
