Auston Matthews' shoulder injury won't change how the Toronto Maple Leafs approach the trade deadline, head coach Mike Babcock said Friday, per Sportsnet's Chris Johnston.
"We’re not going to do anything foolish," he said. "I know that for sure."
This after Babcock revealed Matthews will be "out for a bit" with a shoulder injury and officially listing the young center as day-to-day.
William Nylander assumed top-line center duties in Friday's practice:
The trade deadline is Feb. 26 at 3 p.m. EST.
