Raiders release Aldon Smith after report of domestic incident

The Oakland Raiders announced the release of linebacker Aldon Smith on Monday.
The decision comes hours after he reportedly checked into rehab following reports he was involved in a domestic violence incident.
Police responded to a call on Saturday from Smith's fiancee, Shawna McKnight. She later told TMZ Sports that she was the victim and said her parents took the linebacker to rehab.
Smith is suspended from the NFL for repeated violations of its substance abuse program and hasn't played since 2015.
