Isaac Haas will miss remainder of NCAA tournament with fractured elbow
Boilermaker fans couldn't celebrate their Round of 64 victory for long.
Purdue head coach Matt Painter announced that center Isaac Haas will miss the remainder of the NCAA tournament after he suffered a fractured elbow in Friday's win over Cal State Fullerton.
Haas landed hard on his right elbow but remained in the game to see Purdue through the first round. He was seen grimacing on the bench, but never went to the locker room and managed a gritty nine-point, 10-rebound performance to help his team to a 74-48 victory.
An X-ray after the game revealed he required surgery.
The 7-foot-2 Haas serves as the Boilermakers' backbone on both ends of the floor. He's averaging 14.9 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks while shooting 62.1 percent from the field this season.
