The NHL won't be changing its offside rule.
The oft-controversial regulation was on the agenda for the general managers meetings in Boca Raton, Fla., on Tuesday, but there wasn't enough support for tweaking it.
The current rule states that if a player's skate is in the air, but not over the blue line, the play is still offside. The definition, combined with coach's challenges, has created plenty of issues over the last few seasons, including during Game 1 of last year's Stanley Cup Final.
GMs will continue to gather in Florida until Wednesday.
