End of an era: How much do you know about Steve Yzerman?

On this day in 2006, Steve Yzerman scored the last goal of his Hall of Fame career before finally retiring after the playoffs.
After three Stanley Cups and 20-plus seasons, The Captain's knees just wouldn't hold up, forcing him to retire.
Yzerman spent his entire career in the Detroit Red Wings organization, however, he was nearly dealt in 1996 to the Ottawa Senators in exchange for Alexei Yashin. But, after a meeting with owner Mike Illitch, eventually the Red Wings decided not to move Yzerman, and the following season, he would lead Detroit to their first Stanley Cup championship in over 40 years.
