The New England Patriots have selected running back Sony Michel out of Georgia with the 31st overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft.
Michel was an exciting rusher at Georgia, particularly as a senior in 2017 when he scored 17 touchdowns, had 1,323 yards, and averaged 8 yards per touch over 14 games. Michel is the second player from Georgia drafted by the Patriots in the first round after they took offensive lineman Isaiah Wynn at No. 23.
The 23-year-old joins a crowded backfield in New England that includes Rex Burkhead, James White, and Jeremy Hill.
