The Cincinnati Bengals have selected defensive end Andrew Brown out of Virginia with the 158th overall pick in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
Brown, who played defensive tackle in college, could see time at various positions across the line and was announced as a defensive end when he was drafted.
His selection continues a commitment to improving the league's 16th-best defense, as the club has used five of its picks this year on that side of the ball.

What the analysts are saying
- "Brown has intriguing athletic traits and length for his size, but his skill set lacks sophistication and immature character puts a buyer beware tag on this player." - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com
- "Brown doesn't have the rush talent to play on passing downs and he may have to try to make his living as a rotational defender at the 4- or 5-technique spots for 3-4 teams. His effort, size and toughness give him a shot at making a team." - Lance Zierlein, NFL.com
- "One of this year’s most underrated interior defenders, Brown was a force to be reckoned with for the Cavs, frustrating opposing blockers with his stout frame, impressive power and pleasantly surprising explosiveness." - Luke Easterling, DraftWire
