Steve Spurrier announced as 1st head coach of Alliance of American Football league
The Alliance of American Football league has its first major hire.
The new league, which was unveiled in March and plans to debut a week after next year's Super Bowl, announced on Saturday that legendary head coach Steve Spurrier will front its Orlando team.

The Head Ball Coach is best known for his tenure in the college ranks, including his 12-year stint at the University of Florida and his nine years spent at the University of South Carolina. He coached for two years in the NFL, leading the Washington Redskins in 2002 and 2003 before returning to college ball.
"The Alliance offers a unique opportunity to get back into coaching, this time for a spring season, and work closely with hungry, talented athletes looking to begin, revive or extend their professional careers," Spurrier said in a statement.
Spurrier is a college Hall of Famer and seven-time conference Coach of the Year award winner.
The AAF will feature eight teams and play for 10 weeks.
