Ravens add corner Anthony Averett in 4th round

The Baltimore Ravens have selected cornerback Anthony Averett out of Alabama with the 118th overall pick in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
Averett will join a young cornerback group in Baltimore that includes his former college teammate Marlon Humphrey. Averett is the first defensive player the Ravens have drafted this year after using their first four picks on offense.

Strengths
- A willing tackler, Averett was used effectively in blitz packages throughout his career.
- A converted wide receiver, it's possible he is just scratching the surface of his potential.
- Has good straight-line speed and acceleration and can run with receivers downfield.
- Shows decent recovery speed which can bail him out of mistakes.
Weaknesses
- Struggles to jam wide receivers with jabs at line of scrimmage.
- Will get mauled in the red zone by larger, more physical wide receivers.
- Allows wide receivers to run past him while in zone coverage; doesn't circle back to the receiver quickly enough.
- Gets caught staring at the quarterback for too often and struggles to locate the ball at times.
