The Baltimore Ravens have selected tight end Hayden Hurst out of South Carolina with the 25th pick of the 2018 NFL Draft after trading down twice on the opening day.
Hurst, the first tight end off the board this draft, joins several new faces among the Ravens pass-catchers after the team signed wide receivers Michael Crabtree, John Brown, and Willie Snead this offseason.
The South Carolina product is the first tight end drafted by the Ravens in the first round since Todd Heap went 31st overall in 2001. Hurst will likely compete with Nick Boyle for the starting job in training camp.

What the analysts are saying
- "Fearless play demeanor combined with size, strength, and athleticism make him a well-rounded prospect with the versatility to line up all over the field." - Lance Zierlein, NFL.com
- "Not yet a sophisticated route-runner coming from relatively simplistic passing game. Had trouble separating from quicker safeties. Not going to draw extra coverage or be a true mismatch piece." - Eric Edholm, Pro Football Weekly
