The Pittsburgh Steelers selected safety Terrell Edmunds out of Virginia Tech with the 28th pick in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft after the Buffalo Bills selected his brother Tremaine Edmunds 16th overall.
The brothers are the first set of siblings to be drafted in the same first round.
Terrell may not start right away, with veteran Morgan Burnett joining the defense as a free agent this offseason and 2016 second-round pick Sean Davis on the roster.
The selection was announced by Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier, who walked onto the stage to massive applause Thursday after suffering a major spinal injury last season.

What the analysts are saying
- "Edmunds is at his best near the line of scrimmage and has eventual starter potential, but inconsistencies as an open-field tackler may be a cause for concern in some NFL war rooms." - Lance Zierlein, NFL.com
- "A tough, downhill safety with top-notch cover skills between the numbers. I don't project Terrell as a true free safety yet feel he'd do well in a zone system." - Tony Pauline, Draft Analyst
