Oakland Raiders pass-rusher Khalil Mack is looking to get at least $65 million guaranteed on his next contract, NFL Network's Steve Wyche reports.
Mack, the 2016 Defensive Player of the Year, was absent from the Raiders' first day of voluntary team workouts Monday. The former fifth overall pick is scheduled to earn slightly less than $14 million in 2018, the fifth and final season of his rookie contract.
Mack tallied 10.5 sacks a season ago and has posted a double-digit sack total in each of the last three campaigns, establishing himself as one of the game's elite defensive players.
An agreement between Mack and the Raiders doesn't appear to be close, and Wyche noted the two sides are unlikely to strike a deal before June, at the earliest.
