Former Raiders teammate on Marquette King: 'People didn't like him'
Marquette King appears to have ignited a bit of a feud by signing with the rival Denver Broncos after he was released by the Oakland Raiders.
The eccentric punter drew the ire of one of his former teammates, as Raiders linebacker Bruce Irvin directed a number of tweets at King following his move to the Mile High City.
Fellow former teammate Cordarrelle Patterson provided some insight from the Raiders' locker room.
"People didn't like him," Patterson said with a laugh on "Good Morning Football" on Tuesday. "He was kind of like a diva, but he wasn't. He really didn't show it that much. He was just, he was crazy, man. He had fun though. I respected him as a person but he did things a little differently that people didn't like."
Among King's more notable hijinks were drawing a penalty for throwing a referee's flag and dancing on the field after punts.
Though his antics rubbed some Raiders the wrong way, Patterson took no issue with him.
"I like him, man. He's a little different, but he's a good guy," he said. "He loves his wine."
King will see his former teammates twice a year as part of the AFC West rivalry.
