Watch: After losing no-no, Bartolo stops to salute man who spoiled it
Even though Josh Reddick spoiled Bartolo Colon's shot at history, the veteran hurler still made sure to salute his opponent before walking off the field.
Reddick roped a double in the eighth inning, ending Colon's no-hitter just one batter after the Texas Rangers right-hander had lost his perfect game on a walk.
Colon would leave the game after 7 2/3 innings and stopped to have a brief exchange with Reddick on his way to the dugout. The Houston Astros fans at Minute Maid Park also gave Colon a loud ovation as he walked off the field.
"He looked at me and told me I was supposed to at least roll over that or not pull it like that," Reddick told reporters. "He and I go way back from our Oakland days. I told him 'great job'. He's one of the better guys you'll meet in the game and one of the better pitchers."
