Desiree Linden becomes 1st U.S. woman to win Boston Marathon since 1985

Desiree Linden made history Monday, becoming the first American woman to capture the Boston Marathon since 1985.
Linden finished with a time of 2:39:54 in frigid conditions, with runners battling through freezing rain and a head wind.
"My hands were freezing, and there are times where you were just stood up by the wind. It was comical how slow you were going, and how far you still had to go,'' Linden said to The Associated Press.
Lisa Larsen Weidenbach was the last American woman to win the marathon.
Japan's Yuki Kawauchi won the men's event with a time of 2:15:58.
