Stoneman Douglas football players to announce Dolphins' draft picks
Football players from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and the family of assistant coach Aaron Feis will announce the Miami Dolphins' Day 3 draft selections on April 28, according to the Sun Sentinel's Wes Dusenbury.
Feis was one of 17 people killed in the Stoneman Douglas shooting in February. In recent years, the NFL has allowed teams to choose who represents the club for its late-round selections. Feis' family and 18 seniors from his football team will help continue this tradition.
The Dolphins were one of many pro sports teams that made a connection to the school. The franchise donated $100,000 to the Stoneman Douglas community, while its coaching staff donated an additional $17,500 to Feis’ family.
All of Miami's Day 3 picks will be announced at the team's practice facility in Davie, Fla., and will fall in the fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh rounds.
