The Kansas City Chiefs have selected cornerback Tremon Smith out of Central Arkansas with the 196th pick in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
Smith was a first-team All-Southland Conference pick in 2016 and 2017 (41 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, five interceptions, 11 pass breakups). The Associated Press recognized his talents after last season, as well, naming him a third-team FCS All-American.
The former FCS standout joins a crowded secondary with Kendall Fuller, David Amerson, Steven Nelson, and Keith Reaser.
