Report: Budenholzer, Williams front-runners for Bucks job
The Milwaukee Bucks are considering Mike Budenholzer and Monty Williams the favorites for their open head coaching position, reports Gery Woelfel of the Racine Journal Times.
Budenholzer and the Bucks have agreed to meet soon, Woelfel adds.
The former Atlanta Hawks head coach hit the open market on April 25 after agreeing to part ways with the organization. Budenholzer slogged through a 24-58 rebuilding year in Atlanta this season but previously had led the club to four straight winning seasons, including a 60-win season in 2014-15.
Williams is currently serving as the vice president of basketball operations for the San Antonio Spurs after working as the associate head coach for the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2015-16.
He has an all-time coaching record of 173-221 in five seasons as the bench boss of the New Orleans Pelicans, from 2010-2015.
