Nunes, Pennington make weight for UFC 224; Dern misses big

Bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes and first-time title challenger Raquel Pennington each checked in at the 135-pound limit for UFC 224 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Saturday.

It wasn't all clear for the main card, however, as strawweight Mackenzie Dern came in at 123 pounds, 7 pounds above the non-title limit and the official weight of opponent Amanda Cooper. It's Dern's third time missing weight in seven fights.

Dern vs. Cooper is still on, according to Esther Lin and Danny Segura of MMA Fighting. Cooper will be given a percentage of Dern's purse.
