Cubs select Stanford shortstop Nico Hoerner No. 24 overall

With the 24th pick in the 2018 MLB amateur draft, the Chicago Cubs selected Nico Hoerner, a shortstop from Stanford University.

While Hoerner is entering the draft as a shortstop, he has experience playing second base as well, which adds to his potential diversity as a major leaguer.
