Former Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Lou Lamoriello will join the New York Islanders to run their hockey operations, according to Arthur Staple of The Athletic.
There's been speculation he would join the Islanders since the Maple Leafs announced on April 30 that Lamoriello would be leaving the team.
Lamoriello is expected to officially join the Islanders' front office in next few days.
The 75-year-old had been with the Maple Leafs the past three seasons and was instrumental in constructing the team that reached the playoffs in each of the last two years, and most recently set franchise records in points and wins in a campaign.
