Promoted Wolves strike permanent deals for loanees Afobe, Boly
The newly promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers will complete the permanent signings of last season's loanees Benik Afobe and Willy Boly, the club announced Friday.
Both players had important roles in Nuno Espirito Santo's squad this season as Wolves regained their place in the Premier League after a six-year absence by winning the Championship in style.
Afobe, who first spent a year at Wolves from 2015-16, rejoined the club on loan from Premier League side Bournemouth in January and scored six goals in 16 Championship appearances.
French centre-back Boly, meanwhile, spent the entire campaign on loan at Molineux from FC Porto. After early injury struggles, he played 37 times in the heart of defence, contributed three goals, and was ultimately named to the PFA Championship Team of the Year.
The fee for Boly's permanent signing is reportedly around £10 million, according to Sky Sports.
The permanent acquisition of the pair, facilitated by a clause in each player's loan agreement, is an encouraging start to Wolves' summer transfer window as they look to equip themselves for life back in the top flight.
