Knicks draft Kevin Knox with No. 9 pick
With the No. 9 pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, the New York Knicks selected Kentucky forward Kevin Knox.
Knox started the season slow before showing off his versatility in the latter half of the season. The 6-foot-9 forward shared the SEC Freshman of the Year award with Alabama's Collin Sexton and pushed Kentucky to a Sweet 16 appearance.
After starting the year averaging 14.3 points on 43.9 percent shooting from the field in his first 19 appearances, Knox began to show off his potential as a 3-point shooting power forward with excellent athleticism. In his last 18 games, he averaged 16.9 points per game and shot 38.6 percent from three.

What the analysts are saying
- "Expect Knox to spend the majority of his time at the four in the NBA with teams using him as a lane-filler or trail three threat in transition, while picking and popping him to space in the half court. ... The fact that he doesn't need many dribbles to get to his spots bodes well for Knox, who can take advantage of slower-footed defenders checking him in the NBA." - Mike Schmitz, ESPN
- "Knox is still figuring it out, but has a lot of appealing tools and should be able to impact games as a scorer as he matures physically and learns the game. ... He appears to still be getting used to his body and is one of the youngest players in the draft, which leaves room for optimism as he builds out his offensive skill set and gets used to putting the ball on the floor." - Jeremy Woo, Sports Illustrated
