LeBron: Neither Cavaliers nor Warriors will visit White House

Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James declared that the winner of the 2018 NBA Finals will not visit the White House under President Donald Trump.

"I know no matter who wins his series, no one wants the invite anyway. It won't be Golden State or Cleveland going," James said.

"There's a lot of things that we believe in as Americans that we don't feel that he's for. There's a lot of people that believe that he's not for the people, or doing things right by the people," James said about Trump.

James visited President Barack Obama in the White House three times in 2012, 2013, and 2016, but he hasn't yet had a chance to repeat that trip since Trump was elected president. The Golden State Warriors had the opportunity to visit the president last year, but Stephen Curry said he didn't want to go, which led to a swift response from Trump on Twitter, in which he uninvited the team, despite no formal invitation having been sent. In response, James called Trump a "bum."

Instead of visiting the White House, the Warriors used their trip to Washington to tour the National Museum of African American History and Culture with students from Kevin Durant's hometown.

Curry says his team will follow the same approach should the Warriors repeat as champions.

"I agree with LeBron. Pretty sure the way we handled things last year, we'll stay consistent with that," Curry told Anthony Slater of The Athletic.
