Suns, Booker agree to max extension; reportedly 5 years, $158M
Devin Booker is set to become an extremely wealthy man. The Phoenix Suns and the young shooting guard have agreed to a maximum extension, the two sides announced Saturday.
The extension will be for five years and a total of $158 million, sources told Yahoo Sports' Shams Charania.
"I am humbled and honored to commit to the Suns organization long term," Booker tweeted as news of the extension broke. "I loved calling Phoenix home the last three seasons as this team & community are special to me. Thank you to the Suns for drafting me and believing in me. I look forward to the future and pursuing a title as a Sun."
Since breaking into the league as the No. 13 pick in 2015, Booker has emerged as a devastating scorer from the wing, averaging 24.9 points per game to go along with 4.7 assists and 4.5 rebounds in 2017-18.
With the 21-year-old Booker in the fold long term, along with 2017 No. 4 pick Josh Jackson and 2018 No. 1 pick Deandre Ayton, the Suns' future looks bright as they look to improve on last year's 21-win campaign.
