Report: Nurkic agrees to re-sign with Trail Blazers on 4-year, $48M deal
Jusuf Nurkic wasn't going to pass up a payday for the second time.
The restricted free agent has reportedly agreed to re-sign with the Portland Trail Blazers on a four-year, $48-million contract with a partially-guaranteed fourth year, league sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Portland previously extended the 23-year-old big man a qualifying offer of $4.8 million.
It was back in the fall when Nurkic reportedly turned down a "rich" four-year extension from the Trail Blazers. Rather than explore a market that's tightening up, Nurkic took the money on the table to stay in Rip City for the foreseeable future.
The 2017-18 campaign marked his first full season with the organization after coming over from the Denver Nuggets at the trade deadline in 2017. He averaged a near double-double of 14.3 points and nine boards on 50.5 percent shooting across 79 appearances for Portland, helping elevate the team to the third seed in the Western Conference - its best finish since 2000.
