Report: Mbah a Moute, Clippers agree to 1-year deal
Veteran forward Luc Mbah a Moute has agreed to a one-year, $4.3-million deal to join the Los Angeles Clippers, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Mbah a Moute averaged 7.5 points, three rebounds, and 1.2 steals in 61 contests for the Houston Rockets last season, playing a major role as part of the league's sixth-best defense by supplying length and versatility off the bench.
The 6-foot-8 Cameroonian is joining the Clippers for the second time after playing in L.A. for two seasons from 2015-17. He will likely come off the bench and see minutes at the forward spots behind Tobias Harris and the oft-injured Danilo Gallinari.
The signing is another big loss for the Rockets, who also saw swingman Trevor Ariza join the Phoenix Suns shortly after midnight on July 1. With starting center Clint Capela still on the market, Houston has so far struggled to bring back the roster that posted the best record in the NBA last season and came one win shy of eliminating the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference finals.
