Report: Bjelica won't sign with 76ers, to play this season in Europe
Hopefully, you didn't purchase your No. 8 Nemanja Bjelica jersey just yet, Philadelphia 76ers fans.
The Serbian forward has told the team he will not be signing his reported one-year, $4.4-million deal and will play in Europe this season, league sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Bjelica's decision to back out of the agreement was first reported by Nikos Varlas of Eurohoops and confirmed by Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic, who added that Bjelica was still considering all of his options as the father of a young family.
Philadelphia will now be forced to look to what is now a fairly thin free-agent market for spacing and perimeter shooting at the four-spot.
A former EuroLeague MVP, Bjelica never really found his groove with the Minnesota Timberwolves, averaging 6.1 points per game on 45 percent shooting over three seasons.
