Report: Leonard offers lacking All-Star return for Spurs

It appears whichever team hopes to land San Antonio Spurs star Kawhi Leonard will have to give up an All-Star in return.

The teams that have engaged the Spurs in talks thus far include the Portland Trail Blazers, Denver Nuggets, Phoenix Suns, Toronto Raptors, Washington Wizards, and the Los Angeles Clippers, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and Ramona Shelburne.

However, with organizations fearing Leonard will bolt to the Los Angeles Lakers at the conclusion of this coming season, packages from around the league have lacked All-Star-level players heading San Antonio's way.

Boston and Philadelphia are both withholding their stars from discussions - Markelle Fultz, Ben Simmons, and Joel Embiid for the Sixers, and Kyrie Irving, Gordon Hayward, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Al Horford for the Celtics - and have instead offered pick-heavy packages, which haven't interested the Spurs' front office, sources told Wojnarowski and Shelburne.

In discussions with other teams, the Spurs appear to be looking for a trifecta of an All-Star, young players with potential, and multiple draft assets, Wojnarowski and Shelburne added.
