Report: Kings, Bjelica in talks on 2-year contract in range of $13M
It's starting to become clear why Nemanja Bjelica backed out of a verbal agreement with the Philadelphia 76ers on a one-year, $4.4-million contract.
According to international basketball reporter David Pick, the Sacramento Kings are in talks with the Serbian forward on a two-year deal that would see the 30-year-old paid in the range of $13 million.
The second year of the deal would reportedly see just $2 million guaranteed, but even if Bjelica is waived after one season, he'd still stand to make considerably more than he would've as a Sixer.
It was initially reported that the former EuroLeague MVP backed out of his deal with Philadelphia in order to return overseas for the upcoming season.
Bjelica averaged 6.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 67 appearances with the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2017-18 campaign.
