Anthem protest policy on hold as NFL, NFLPA work on resolution

The NFL and NFLPA released a joint statement Thursday regarding the league's policy on protests during the national anthem.
The statement says no new rules relating to the anthem will be enforced while the two sides work on a resolution to the controversial issue.
The players' association reportedly explored legal options for fighting the NFL's anthem rules, hiring multiple law firms.
The policy required any protesting players to remain in the locker room during the anthem. Teams would be subject to fines if their players protested on the sidelines.
