Ballard: Luck 'good to go,' will have no limitations during camp

Andrew Luck appears to be on track for a return to the football field.

Indianapolis Colts general manager Chris Ballard said Friday that Luck will be "good to go" when the team opens training camp next week and will have no limitations during practice, according to 1070 The Fan's Kevin Bowen.

Ballard added that his star quarterback will take planned days off during camp to mimic the regular-season schedule and rest his arm. He will take normal first-team reps when the Colts begin practicing July 26.

"He's throwing the ball pretty well," Ballard said, per Indy Star Sports' Zak Keefer.

Luck missed the entire 2017 season due to a setback suffered following his 2016 shoulder surgery. He resumed throwing in June and has claimed he will "absolutely" be cleared for Week 1.

Having Luck back at full strength should be a huge boost to a Colts offense that tallied the third-fewest passing yards (181 per game) in the league last season. Indianapolis finished the campaign 4-12.

In 2016, Luck threw for 4,240 yards with 31 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. The former No. 1 pick went to the Pro Bowl three straight seasons from 2012-14.
