Female create-a-player option added to NBA Live series for 1st time
NBA Live gamers will now have the option to create female players.
EA Sports announced on Friday that it has introduced a new female create-a-player option to NBA Live 19, the first option of its kind in the series' history. Female gamers will be able to scan their faces into the game using the companion app on iOS and Android devices, and will have the same experience in the game's "The One" career mode as their male counterparts.
Additionally, NBA Live 19 will also allow men and women to compete together on the same team.
The move comes a year after EA Sports added all 12 WNBA teams to the NBA Live series.
"After releasing the WNBA Play now feature in NBA Live 18 we saw a huge response, not only from media sites but the community," creative director Ryan Santos told Matt Bertz of Game Informer. "We have a lot of female ballers out there who love the sport, who watch the WNBA and NBA, and who hoop. It felt like once we established The One, we now have a really solid foundation for a way to play the game in a new career mode; it was the right time to create that feature with female create-a-player.
"Because we already had the infrastructure for the WNBA - we had the models, we had the animation, we had the hairstyles - it was a natural progression for us to build off."
