Puma inks sponsorship deal with WNBA
Puma continues its aggressive push back into the basketball market.
The footwear and apparel company announced Friday that it has signed a sponsorship deal with the WNBA. As part of the new partnership, Dallas Wings guard Skylar Diggins-Smith will debut the Puma Clyde Court Disrupt at the 2018 WNBA All-Star Game on Saturday.
"Puma became a permanent thread in the fabric of basketball culture when they partnered with the legend, Clyde Frazier," Diggins-Smith said in a press release, according to Bill DiFilippo of Uproxx. "Puma not only has foresight, they are fearless trailblazers that walk the walk alongside their partners. I'm proud to be part of a family and a brand that supports the WNBA and all the strength, independence, athleticism, individuality, and feminism we represent."
Puma has also inked deals with several NBA players this summer, including No. 1 draft pick Deandre Ayton, San Antonio Spurs forward Rudy Gay, and most recently, Boston Celtics guard Terry Rozier.
