The Phoenix Suns have re-signed point guard Isaiah Canaan to an undisclosed deal, the team announced on Friday.

The 27-year-old joined the Suns in December 2017 through an injury hardship exemption Phoenix received due to its roster having four players out of action for more than two weeks.

Canaan made 19 appearances for the Suns during the 2017-18 season, averaging 9.1 points, 2.3 rebounds, and four assists on 38.2 percent shooting in 22 minutes.

In a game against the Dallas Mavericks on Jan. 31, Canaan fractured his left ankle on a drive to the rim. The injury ended his season, and the Suns later waived the five-year pro after acquiring Elfrid Payton at the trade deadline.

Even though he was waived, the franchise allowed Canaan to continue participating in practices while rehabbing his ankle.
