Dolphins' Gase lists 'Drake or Gore' as starting RB 'just to be an a------'
Warning: Story contains coarse language
Miami Dolphins head coach Adam Gase appears to enjoy toying with fans and reporters alike as the regular season inches closer.
Gase refused to commit to just one starting running back, naming Kenyan Drake "or" Frank Gore as the team's first option on the depth chart.
When asked about his decision, Gase seemed to be amused.
"Just to be an asshole," he said while laughing, when asked to explain the decision, according to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald. "I mean both of those guys, they deserve to be on the field. Every game is different. I like what both of those guys bring to the table and they work well together."
Drake rushed for 644 yards and three touchdowns on 133 carries in 2017, and many expect the 24-year-old to emerge as the starter. Gore signed a one-year deal with the Dolphins in March, running for 961 yards and three touchdowns on 261 carries with the Indianapolis Colts last season.
With the Dolphins preparing for their first preseason game, it seems Gase's decision to name a starter will have to wait.
