Incognito goes on Twitter rant after Vikings' Zimmer denies interest

Free agent Richie Incognito went on another Twitter rant Tuesday, this time setting his sights on the Minnesota Vikings' Mike Zimmer after the head coach declared he had no interest in signing the former Buffalo Bills guard.

Incognito recently told TMZ he fielded interest from the Vikings and Seattle Seahawks and was mulling his options, but Zimmer declared this to be categorically false.

"No interest, and totally false. Tweet that," Zimmer said to Ben Goessling of The Star Tribune.

Incognito didn't take kindly to the suggestion he was lying and responded with a series of tweets Tuesday.

He proceeded to post - then delete - purported screenshots from a conversation with whom he claims to be former Vikings offensive line coach Tony Sparano.

Sparano died July 19 and held his position with the Vikings until his death. Incognito previously played under Sparano in 2010 and 2011 when he served as the head coach of the Miami Dolphins.

Incognito was named to the Pro Bowl for the fourth time in 2017 but a tumultuous offseason may limit the number of offers he fields.

The 35-year-old initially declared his intention to retire on April 10, saying his kidneys and liver were shutting down, and fired his agent after agreeing to take a pay cut. As a result, the Bills placed him on the reserve/retired list.

Days after he retired, Incognito asked the Bills to release him from his contract. Buffalo complied rendering him an unrestricted free agent.
