Everton snap up Bernard on free transfer
Everton bolstered their attack with the signing of Bernard on a free transfer Thursday.
The former Shakhtar Donetsk winger agreed to terms on a four-year contract.

Everton unveiled Bernard shortly before announcing deals for center-back Yerry Mina and midfielder Andre Gomes from Barcelona.
Bernard, who has made 14 appearances for his native Brazil, reportedly drew interest from AC Milan and West Ham before making the decision to join the Toffees.
The Guardian's Andy Hunter described Bernard's contract as "lucrative," likely including a significant signing bonus.
"I chose Everton because of all the things I had heard about (manager) Marco Silva and after speaking to him I was happy with what he said to me," Bernard told EvertonTV. "The manager made me feel confident about playing here. He's a very good coach and he has achieved really good things at other clubs.
"Everton is a club with a great structure and a lot of tradition."
Bernard will vie for minutes on the left wing with fellow summer arrival Richarlison. He can also play centrally as an attacking midfielder.
