Incognito wanted father's head cut off, say funeral home witnesses
Pro Bowl guard Richie Incognito wanted his deceased father's head cut off for research purposes the day he was arrested at a funeral home in Arizona, according to a police report obtained by Stevie Johnson of the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle.
Incognito was detained Monday on misdemeanor charges of making threats and disorderly conduct after his behavior at the funeral home became erratic. He was making funeral arrangements for his father when he spiraled out of control.
Witnesses said Incognito was punching caskets and throwing objects in the funeral home after being uncooperative about signing cremation papers. He was also reported to have slammed an urn on top of the casket he eventually chose for his father.
At one point, Incognito asked one of the funeral home employees if he wanted to see the firearms in his truck, and began making gun-like gestures with his fingers. Police found five guns in his vehicle, all of which were owned legally.
Incognito, 35, is a free agent after he orchestrated his release from the Buffalo Bills in May. He was taken for involuntary psychiatric examination the same month he was released following an incident with a patron at a gym in Florida.
The four-time Pro Bowler has had several issues off the field throughout his career.
