Erik Karlsson says the notion that he doesn't want to play in Canada for the long term is false.
The superstar defenseman contacted Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman on Friday morning to set the record straight.
Fox Sports Midwest's Andy Strickland claimed Thursday that "word is Erik Karlsson does not want to sign an extension with a Canadian team" after trade talks involving the 28-year-old were rekindled.
