Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz is expected to miss "several weeks" of the regular season while he continues to rehab the torn ACL that ended his 2017 campaign prematurely, reports NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
The Eagles are said to be taking a cautious approach with Wentz, their franchise pivot. With him still on the shelf, Philadelphia will rely on Super Bowl LII MVP Nick Foles to steer the ship.
Wentz seemed to be making good progress in his recovery throughout the offseason, but still hasn't been cleared for contact by the Eagles' medical staff.
The 25-year-old had hoped to return in time for the season opener.
