Eagles to activate Jeffery from PUP list Friday
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Alshon Jeffery will be activated from the physically unable to perform (PUP) list Friday, head coach Doug Pederson told ESPN's Tim McManus.
Jeffery's recovery from offseason shoulder surgery is still likely to extend into the 2018 campaign, as he's reportedly expected to miss at least two weeks of action. Rejoining the active roster is a positive sign for his status, however. Remaining on the PUP list to start the regular season would have required him to sit out the first six games.
Jeffery was a key contributor for an explosive offense upon joining the Eagles in 2017, hauling in 57 receptions for 789 yards and nine touchdowns.
The strong contributions en route to a Super Bowl title earned him a four-year, $52.25-million deal to re-sign in Philadelphia this past offseason.
