Report: Bell out vs. Chiefs, forfeits $1.7M for missing 2 games

Geoff Burke / USA TODAY Sports

There remains no sight of Le'Veon Bell at Pittsburgh Steelers team facilities.

As the star running back continues his holdout, the Steelers have left him off their depth chart for the second consecutive week, ruling Bell out for Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

The two-game absence means Bell will lose $1.7 million in game checks, Schefter adds.

Since the Steelers placed their franchise tag on Bell for the second straight year, he has yet to be heard from this offseason.

Last year, Bell returned to the team in time to suit up for the season opener. He has yet to sign his franchise tender this time around.

James Conner received the first start of his career last week and put up two touchdowns and nearly 200 total yards in a 21-21 tie with the Cleveland Browns. He's expected to draw the start again Sunday in Bell's continued absence.
