Eagles' Jenkins: Jaguars QB tape is proof 'Kaepernick deserves a job'
Philadelphia Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins says there are teams that would be better off with Colin Kaepernick behind center, including the Jacksonville Jaguars.
"I can turn on the tape this week of our opponent and see that Colin Kaepernick deserves a job," Jenkins said, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
The jab is likely directed at quarterback Blake Bortles, who has struggled this season and was benched for Cody Kessler during the Jaguars' 20-7 loss to the Houston Texans.
During Jacksonville's three-game losing streak, Bortles has thrown for a total of 640 yards, two touchdowns, and five interceptions.
In a statement released Monday, the Jaguars announced they were sticking with Bortles as the starting quarterback.
Jenkins was involved in an altercation with Carolina Panthers safety Eric Reid last Sunday. Following the game, Reid labeled Jenkins as a sellout.
The two players were members of the Players Coalition, a group made up of NFL players attempting to increase social initiatives for underfunded communities. Reid left the Coalition in late 2017 after disagreements with the group's leadership, including Jenkins.
