Raptors' Lowry exits game vs. Knicks with right ankle injury
Toronto Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry exited Monday's win against the New York Knicks after Mitchell Robinson landed on his right ankle going for the basketball late in the third quarter.
He was eventually ruled out for the remainder of the game with right ankle soreness.
The five-time All-Star immediately underwent testing, though the Raptors believe the injury isn't serious, league sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Raptors head coach Nick Nurse told reporters following Toronto's 128-92 victory that Lowry would be re-evaluated on Tuesday, and described the injury as "not terribly bad," according to TSN's Josh Lewenberg.
Lowry finished with 15 points on five 3-pointers, eight assists, and six rebounds in 26 minutes of action prior to departing. It was his first game back in the starting lineup following a two-game absence due to a left ankle sprain.
"I think it was a little bit dirty," Lowry said of the play that injured him. "He (Robinson) grabbed me, pulled me down. He's a young kid so I don't know if he did it on purpose or not, but I think he'll learn his lesson next time and be a little bit more careful."
The Raptors are back in action Wednesday against the Oklahoma City Thunder, with Nurse hopeful that Lowry will be able to return at some point during the week.
