Jeff and Stan Van Gundy to call first game together Wednesday
Jeff and Stan Van Gundy will be on an NBA broadcast together for the first time Wednesday night.
The brothers will join play-by-play announcer Dave Pasch to call the game between the New Orleans Pelicans and Los Angeles Lakers.
"The network mentioned in early January that they were going to schedule it. I think it will be fun," Jeff told Joe Reedy of the Associated Press. He joked that Pasch "will keep us in line and use his trademark saying, 'Now back to the game,' if things get out of hand."
Jeff, former head coach of the New York Knicks and Houston Rockets, has worked as a color commentator for ESPN since 2007. Stan joined the network in September following a stint as head coach and president of basketball operations for the Detroit Pistons.
