Ex-Nike, Adidas exec expects Zion's future shoe deal to reach $100M
Former Nike and Adidas marketing executive Sonny Vaccaro believes Zion Williamson has a record-breaking sneaker deal in his future.
Vaccaro, who signed Michael Jordan to his first sneaker deal in 1984, told TMZ Sports that he expects the Duke star's contract to eclipse the $90-million deal that LeBron James inked with Nike before being drafted.
"I believe he's going to break what Nike ended up giving - what I wish Adidas would've given - to LeBron James, $100 million for 10 years," he said.
Vaccaro went on to explain why Williamson would be worthy of a such a deal.
"There are particular, singular athletes that can move the needle. Zion Williamson has moved the needle before he even became a professional," he said. "... Zion Williamson is known to 14-, 15-, 13-, 60-, 70-, 80-year-old people because of his brilliance, his charismatic presence. That's why he's different."
