Humboldt survivor Ryan Straschnitzki 'honored' to sign deal with Adidas
Ryan Straschnitzki, one of the survivors of the fatal Humboldt Broncos bus crash, has inked a multi-year deal with Adidas.
"I'm pretty honored and it's an awesome feeling," the 20-year-old told Bill Graveland of The Canadian Press. "I got some nice swag and gear."
Straschnitzki was paralyzed from the chest down when the bus carrying his junior hockey team collided with a semi-truck at a rural Saskatchewan intersection in April 2018, leaving 16 people dead and 13 others injured. He has since been focused on achieving his dream of making Canada's national sledge hockey team.
As part of his partnership with Adidas, Straschnitzki will be participating in the company's hockey and training campaigns and programs during the year.
"It's crazy," he said. "I'm just trying to be a good person and spreading my message. And I think that continued hard work helps with these opportunities."
