Report: Josh Jacobs uncertain for camp due to contract dispute
Oakland Raiders first-round draft pick Josh Jacobs might not be at camp when it begins due to a disagreement over the payment schedule of his signing bonus, The Athletic's Vic Tafur reports.
The No. 24 overall selection is the only Raiders draft pick still unsigned and negotiations for his deal have not gone well, sources told Tafur. Rookies are to report to camp July 23.
The Alabama product is expected to be the featured running back in Jon Gruden's offense and will likely carve out a significant role ahead of Jalen Richard and Doug Martin.
With contract values and signing bonuses predetermined with the rookie wage scale, holdouts among first-year players have been rare. However, disagreements still arise over the payment schedule of bonuses and whether salary guarantees will have offsets.
There are currently five other unsigned first-round draft picks, including San Francisco 49ers' Nick Bosa, New York Jets' Quinnen Williams, and New York Giants' Daniel Jones.
